SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Material Handler is to handle all inbound and outbound deliveries of all cheeses and supplies in the warehouse. This schedule works Sunday (night) to Thursday (night); 11pm to 7am.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned. Receives raw material, unloads trailers and records transactions using a data collection device. Stages customer orders using a data collection device utilizing FIFO principles. Follows all regulatory rules including but not limited to sealing trucks, record temperature readings of finished goods and performs and records trailer inspections. Perform cycle counts. Provides cheese in correct quantities and specifications, based on reading the production schedule and using a data collection scanner to production lines.Moves finished products to warehouse and verify the proper amount of finished goods were scanned. Records all information on raw material as it is brought into the Feed Room and verifies that it is cleared for use on foreign materials check list. Operates pallet stacker for vertical stacking of product in coolers. Supplies salt, anti-caking agents, etc. to feed room. Supplies packaging materials to packaging departments. Operates battery charging station and maintain charge in pallet trucks. Inspects all incoming and outbound loads to ensure product quality standards are met. Picks and loads customer orders onto trailers. Creates and applies pallet tags/license plates to finished pallets and incoming materials. Operates stretch wrapper. Transports chemical barrels and containers. Receives records and distributes inbound package shipments. Provides support to feed room and packaging areas. Uses cleaning materials for sanitation processes. Completes all paperwork associated with essential job functions. Communicates with all other warehouse and production team members. Complies with all company polices/procedures/programs. Complies with all company Safety, HACCP and GMP policies Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management or other individuals authorized to initiate action. Food manufacturing experience or experience working in a distribution facility, desirable. Previous forklift experience preferred.OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Basic math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of two-, three- and four-digit numbers using units of weight measurement and counts. Individual must be certified for walking, riding and stacking (4 high) forklifts. PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.The Team Member is required to walk, stoop or crouch; and talk or hear. The Team Member frequently lifts to 50 pounds. The Team Member may need to work at heights of up to 50 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. When assisting in other converting areas, which may occur occasionally, the Team Member must be able to frequently lift and/or move blocks or wheels weighing 20 to 50 pounds and boxes of dried cheese weighing up to 50 pounds. Blocks or wheels of cheese are carried from pallets to a conveyor or staging area about 30 high.The Team Member may frequently lift and/or move boxes of product from 20 to 50 pounds and stack onto pallets up to 60 above the floor and frequently place/carry bags of cheese weighing 5 to 25 pounds from a turntable to cheese boxes, both 30 above the floor.Pallets weighing up to 60 pounds must be stacked up to 5 feet high. WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The Team Member is exposed to approximate temperatures of 28-55 degrees continuously.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. plant12
