**Short Description**

As a family-owned company, its the people who continue to make STIHL a successful, world-class brand. STIHL Inc. is seeking a Material Handler personnel who is passionate about handheld outdoor power equipment to support our Raw Materials Warehouse at our Virginia Beach, VA STIHL Inc. location!

This person will receive, verify, label, and store incoming materials, parts, or product. To pick, pack, and ship products and parts per customer orders. To load, unload, and move materials within warehouse and/or production areas as needed..

The position hours are either 6:00am to 6:00pm OR 6pm to 6am. Typical 3 week schedule -

* Sat/Sunday work, Mon/Tues off-no work / Wed-Thurs-Friday work

* Second week Sat/Sun off-no work , Mon- Tues work/ Wed -Thurs Fri off-no work

* Third week repeats back to first week schedule

+ Note schedule allows for not more than three 12 hour shifts in a row and averages 42 hrs./week over a two week schedule.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**

* Receives work orders from Supervisor, other oral instructions, hand held electronic inventory units, or other written messages to ascertain materials or containers to be moved and their location.

* Completes work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 9000, forklift training, and other safety training requirements.

* Palletizes orders according to shipping or destination points, ensuring correct placement of materials for safe transfer and efficient use of available space.

* Unloads raw materials, goods in process, and/or finished goods from trucks or other transit containers and transfers items to designated stock location.

* Checks in materials, visually inspects, weighs, and/or otherwise verifies incoming order for correctness.

* Informs appropriate personnel of required adjustments to inventory systems.

* Transfers materials from storage location to production line and from production lines to storage areas, placing materials in designated areas as necessary or requested.

* Transfers materials to other locations, such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, etc. as required. Loads trucks or other transit containers with completed orders of finished products or goods in process, ensuring safe operation and secure packing for over the road transit.

* Records material transfers, storage and other movements on PCs, CRTs, or hand held electronic units, ensuring accuracy of information.

* May adjust or bring on line automated, mechanized material movers to ensure correct and safe operation of the equipment.

* Follows all defined safety procedures and uses judgment to ensure safe work methods.

* All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.

* Performs additional related duties as required.

**Specifications**

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* One to three months related experience and/or training.

* Average score on basic skill test batteries.

* Average score on mechanical concepts test batteries.

* Complete in satisfactory manner ISO 14001 and 9000, forklift training, and other safety training courses as prescribed.

* Uses hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

* Reaches with hands and arms.

* Sits frequently, stands, walks, stoops, kneels and crouches occasionally.

* Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving with mechanized assistance up to 100 pounds.
