The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a customer-focused attitude. *Pay is based upon experience.**Job Description*A Material Handler/Class C Driver provides prompt, courteous service to customers in the yard by assisting in selection and loading of materials. The Material Handler also builds and stages materials for delivery at the direction of the Yard Foreman or Store Manager, and delivering materials to customers, providing superior customer service. This position will require cooperation with all supervisory staff, other delivery drivers, and store personnel. This position reports to the Store Manager. *We are hiring for Dixfield, Maine.* *Hourly pay based on experience.**Responsibilities:** Follow all company policies and safety standards.* Assist pick-up customers in the yard in a prompt, professional manner.* Pick quality merchandise for delivery customers and build delivery loads.* Perform vehicle safety inspections.* Load or inspects loads to ensure no unsafe vehicle leaves the yard.* Checks load for picking accuracy and corrects errors as needed.* May deliver and unload product to customer expectation by following written directions and instructions and by verbal communication on the job site.* Contribute efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work space.* Reports damage to equipment, inventory, or property to immediate supervisor the day it occurs.* Perform tasks deemed necessary by supervisory staff.*Qualifications:** Possess a valid state drivers license with a clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years.* Have quality customer service and communication skills.* Ability to respond to hazards while driving.* Ability to read, understand, and act upon written language.* Ability to perform basic math; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.* Ability to repeatedly lift objects up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist repeatedly throughout the work day.*Working Conditions:*This position is performed in an open warehouse and out in the elements.*Equal Employment Opportunity:* Ware-Butler Building Supply is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
