Summary of Duties:

This position supports the Plating department by counting epoxy bars and verifying counts against incoming documentation before moving material to the designated area to be plated. This position will also be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading trucks, moving other materials to and from storage areas, and assisting production staff in properly packaging plated materials as needed.

What You'll Do:

  • Load and unload trucks safely while ensuring efficient movement of materials in or out of the facility.
  • Move raw materials and finished products between different areas of the manufacturing plant.
  • Receive incoming materials from suppliers, count and inspect them to ensure they meet specifications, and record them on appropriate documentation.
  • Verify physical counts against incoming documentation and notify supervisors of shortages or excesses.
  • Clean and maintain material handling equipment and storage areas to ensure they are safe and operational.
  • Collaborate with production team to plan and schedule material movements and ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines.
  • Assist production staff in packaging plated materials as time allows or when it is necessary to complete an order to be sent on a truck.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment while handling or moving materials and while operating a forklift.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material handling processes and reduce waste and suggest solutions to supervisors.
  • Uphold quality and ethical standards in all interactions with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments as assigned by department supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent as well as minimum of 1-3 years of applicable experience in an industrial environment, forklift experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Attention to detail, to ensure accurate counts and keep correct and consistent documentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a non-climate controlled, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to lift to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
  • This job requires standing, stooping, and bending to complete tasks more than 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to stay in a stationary or seated position while operating a forklift up to 50% of the time.
