Job Description:

Position Purpose Responsible for keeping the manufacturing plant clean, safe and operational at all times. They must have strong organizational skills to unload and load trailers with a forklift. Have a good eye for detail to notice any defects in final product and defects with raw material. Teamwork is essential to being a plant material handler. Responsible for collaborating with Production Team to move material and finished product smoothly and safely. Work independently to accomplish tasks around the plant assigned by Plant Manager. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED diploma.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and perform basic math computations as needed.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven work experience as a Warehouse Clerk or similar role
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12 months previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous Power Industrial Truck experience.
  • Good understanding of how inventory works.
  • Ability to detect potential problems with raw material or finished product.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Load trailers accurately with finished product.
  • Unload raw material from trailers.
  • Ability to transfer rolls of paper from warehouse to production floor.
  • Recognize defects in raw material and quickly notify supervisor.
  • Use equipment to test raw materials.
  • Inventory control of the warehouse using equipment and excel spreadsheets.
  • Establish a working relationship with Production Team to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
  • Set an example of a clean worksite to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
  • Ensure shipping procedures are timely.
  • Be an example of the company's safety and quality guidelines.
  • Other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.

  • Treats all Eco Pack stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect staff and themselves.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected production information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Reports any retaliation or discrimination to Human Resources or Plant Manager.
  • Participate and train in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the plant's emergency plan.
  • Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to Plant Manager.
  • As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and safety competency.
  • Follow all plant established safety guidelines.

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
  • Ability to work under conditions such as heat and cold.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 75lbs.

Periodic revision may be necessary to reflect changes in expectations placed on the Production Team by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).   • Unsatisfactory: Achieves results which are far less than the standards identified for the performance factors rated.
  • Needs Improvement: Achieves results which are less than the standards identified for the performance factors rated. Exhibits the potential to become a competent performer. May be new to job or need skill development.
  • Meets Standards: Achieves results which meet the standards identified for the performance factors rated. This rating is the expected level of performance.
  • Exceeds Standards: Achieves results which usually exceed the standards identified for the performance factors rated.
