Material Handler I
In this job you will fill orders, move materials between cells/departments, check identification for quantities and part numbers, and perform inventory transactions in the business system.
As an Material Handler I you will:
* Unload, move and store a variety of materials, parts, or products Conduct Bin Maintenance as needed
* Unload incoming materials, check identification for quantities and part Numbers, report shortages or damaged material, move to storage areas
* Move materials between cells, following routing, delivery tickets or orders
* Fill orders from storage areas and warehouse stock and deliver to designated cells
* Operate hand truck to move materials and stack loaded pallets
* Load outgoing trucks using a hand truck or pallet jack
* Release and maintain the status of Kanbans and report on late orders
* Accurately perform inventory transactions in the G&W business system
* Perform cycle counts as requested
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
* Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
* Contribute to team effort by training others in the performance of material handler tasks as needed
* Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation
* Document actions by completing production and quality forms
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
* Ideally has 0-1 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Must be able to safely use pallet jacks and other manual moving equipment
* Must be able to read and interpret Bills of Material
* Must have basic to intermediate computer skills
* Has the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others to support the manufacturing processes
* Ideally has previous warehouse or manufacturing experience
The physical demands of the job are:
* Work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles
* Frequencies - Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
* Lifting Demands:
* Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistance
* Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waist
* Carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
* Push/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
* Push/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with assistance
* Postural Demands:
* Standing continuous
* Walking continuous
* Bending/stooping frequent
* Squatting/kneeling frequent
* Lifting frequent
* Miscellaneous Demands:
* Griping, manipulation, fingering continuous
* Variable hand/power tool use frequent
* Two-person tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling and pushing including engine stands hand trucks, pallet jacks, and hoists

Pay Range is typically between $20 - $22 per hour
