Job Description:

This position is responsible for picking, preparing, processing, and packaging customer orders in a safe and efficient

manner. Use of proper inventory controls to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction are important. Level II

employees will also brand, and laser engrave hearing aid devices in the Configuration Center and/or provide daily team

instruction. Employees will be responsible for order accuracy and completeness of all shipments leaving the Starkey

Global Distribution Center (GDC).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS

* Ensure materials are properly picked, prepared, processed, and packaged - Level I & II

o Review and sort customer orders in Oracle and/or SOP systems (use automated machine, if applicable,

to create shipping boxes for each order).

o Pick and process orders using First In, First Out (FIFIO) methodology (use automated machine, if

applicable).

o Check and verify shipment account number, part number(s), quantities, and special delivery

instructions.

o Check and verify shipment quality.

o Re-package materials into applicable lot sizes; maintain traceability when re-labeling (use automated

machine, if applicable).

o Monitor expiration dates/lot codes.

o Use computer to invoice Oracle and/or SOP orders.

o Place shipping packages into bins and/or onto pallets (use shrink wrap machine, if applicable).

o Process orders through 3rd Party carrier shipping systems.

o Communicate backorder and special print requests to configuration center, if applicable.

* Utilize proper inventory controls - Level I & II

o Perform applicable Oracle transactions when moving inventory.

o Assist with cycle count procedures.

o Take part in annual physical inventory.

o Notify cycle count analyst(s) of any material discrepancies.

o Communicate all backorders to Team Lead and/or Expediter Planner.

* Perform receiving/replenishment tasks - Level I & II

o Check and verify shipment part numbers and source location.

o Receive material on supplier POs into inventory in Oracle.

o Stock and organize shelves to ensure FIFO (use automated machine, if applicable).

* Inspect orders to ensure quality and customer service - Level I & II

o Match hearing aid serial numbers to invoice and labels.

o Ensure accurate part numbers and accessories are sent with each customer order.

o Include accurate packaging and shipping materials with each shipment.

* Process hearing aid backorders and/or special print requests though Configuration Center - Level II

o Prioritize orders requiring device configuration and special print requests.

o Wirelessly brand hearing aids using Manufacturing Suite software.

o Laser engrave hearing aids (using Green Laser), following special print notes and request.

o Perform configuration inspection process to ensure accuracy.

* Provide direction for department employees - Level II

o Coordinate the work and activity of team members.

o Organize, plan, and prioritize work by referencing the open order report.

o Act as a back-up for all positions in the department.

o Communicate with supervisor(s), peer(s), and subordinates.

o Monitor e-mail, workflow, and phone requests and respond in a timely fashion.

o Investigate customer complaints; identify root causes and implement improvement actions.

* Level II - This position might be responsible to act as backup for the Team Leader of the department and assist

them in coordinating the workload of the staff within the department.

* Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

* Education (i.e. 4-year college degree, license, certification)

o Ability to read and understand written/verbal directions and paperwork such as standard operating

procedures

* Experience (i.e. years of work experience related to the job)

o Level I - previous inventory and packaging experience desirable. Machine operator and

shipping/receiving experience helpful.

o Level II - experience in inventory management and computer systems required.

Knowledge / Technical Requirements

* Level I - N/A

* Level II - Basic math skills required

* Basic Microsoft Office knowledge desired

WORK CONTEXT

Working Conditions

* Standard warehouse conditions (temperature-controlled environment); regular attendance and responsiveness

to reasonable job-related directives as given by the Supervisor; Jobholder will stand and move around

throughout the day, as required, and occasionally come into contact with hazardous materials.

Equipment Operation

* Standard office and warehouse equipment; telephone, e-mail, scan and copier machine, mobile carts, tape guns,

cutters, cardboard baler, step ladder, pallet jack, label printers, scanners, scales, carrier shipping system, shrink

wrap and forklift
