Job Description:
Material Handler - Hope, ARWe have an immediate opening for a Material Handler at our Hope, Arkansas Facility. The primary role and responsibility of the material handler at Brentwood Industries Hope Facility is to move material to and from inventory as required, and to do so in an accurate and efficient manner. Material handlers will maintain inventory in an orderly fashion by keeping storage areas neatly organized and properly maintained. It is the material handlers' responsibility to follow established safety procedures and forklift maintenance procedures. Essential Job Functions
  • Inspect forklift and fill out the forklift inspection sheet before each use/daily.
  • Make sure that each assembly machine is running and has appropriate material according to the run list and job card.
  • Move all finished products from each machine after all packaging has been done to the location as noted on the job card.
  • Return excess inventory to the appropriate inventory location.
  • Move scrapped material to the approximate location.
  • Keep all assigned areas clean and free of unnecessary materials.
  • Should be able to understand and carry out multi-step instructions and apply common sense to problems that arise.
  • Count finished product for each machine and submit to Inventory Control Manager.
  • Reasoning ability, communication skills, organizational skills mechanical abilities, troubleshooting abilities, knowledge of welding and basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and accurately use tape measure, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, electrical tools and meters.
  • Cycle counting as assigned.
  • Review Syteline entries and print reports.
  • Print bar code tags.
  • Learn to backup other jobs within the department.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment helpful.
  • Forklift experience and other material handling equipment.
  • The ability to read, write (print legibly), speak, and understand English at the high school level.
  • Understand and carry out multi-step instructions.
  • Problem solving skill.
  • Available to work as needed based on business demand.
