Position: Material Handler I Location: Chatham, NY Pay: $21.85 an hour + 3rd shift Differential pay of $1.00 Shift: 3rd shift- 11pm-7am

In this position, you will report to the shift supervisor and responsible for the safety of himself and fellow employees; to inspect and package products utilizing established quality guidelines; to supply and remove raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to and from production presses; to relieve machine operators (Inspector/Packers) for breaks; ensure that each work station has ample supplies; and to be proficient in I.Q. and Oracle software procedures.

What you'll be doing:

  • Correctly and legibly complete all paperwork necessary, including labeling requirements.
  • Provide production supplies to, and removal from, workstations as needed.
  • Clean filters in all material handling equipment systems.
  • Clean and empty grinders, hoppers, and dryers.
  • Set up dryers and assist with the mounting of the dryer to the press, if needed.
  • Correctly return unused material to warehouse.
  • Correctly mark/tag material and color from warehouse to pressroom/press-side.
  • Transport finished goods to the staging area.
  • Properly move and complete skids within Oracle
  • Supply manufacturing with pallets.
  • Empty garbage dumpster.
  • Collect and bale cardboard.
  • Follow manufacturing manual for material and color usage guidelines.
  • Supply work-in-process components to manufacturing.
  • Transport recycle to the Recycle Department-product must be correctly labeled with material information.
  • Follow template design to locate dryers, grinders, etc.
  • Pass Forklift licensing exam and demonstrate correct and safe operation of a forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Correctly and safely operate stretch wrapper to wrap product and scrap for outside storage.
  • Perform color and material changes as needed.
  • Learn and utilize Color Calibration Procedures.
  • Provide relief to inspector packers for breaks.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by shift supervisor.
