As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by efficiently handling and storing materials at various stages of production. This includes operating forklifts and side loaders, conducting safety checks, communicating with supervisors and inspectors, and ensuring the orderly storage of materials. Your responsibilities also extend to maintaining inventory, conducting annual counts, and assisting in manual material movement. The role demands a results-oriented mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for maintaining employee health and safety. Minimum Requirements
- High School education or equivalent.
- Forklift and side loader certification, computer literate, basic math skills, good communication skills, ability to identify material types, sizes, and lengths, good organizational skills, ability to budget time for multiple tasks, ability to physically handle manual loading and unloading of materials, working knowledge of Hone shop operations work instructions.
- At least 5 years' experience or as deemed sufficient by management.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift and/or Combi-Lift, and side loader for material movement.
- Perform daily safety checks and log inspections.
- Communicate with supervisors to ensure timely material transfers.
- Store materials orderly to prevent damage and facilitate stock counting.
- Maintain the production flow board on material movement.
- Conduct annual inventory counts and check in shipments of raw materials.
- Assist in manual movement of materials not exceeding 55 pounds.
- Observe and practice all safety guidelines and shop rules.
