Job Description:
The position provides direct support to the Supply Chain Team and is responsible for material handling, general shipping and receiving transactions, and providing assistance to the welding and machine shops as needed. Forklift and crane proficiency is required.Responsibilities:* Load and Unload trucks.* Move material per production orders and shop load reports using forklifts, cranes, and hand trucks.* Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, counts items, weighs, measures, records shortages, rejects damaged items.* Reviews the identifying information of Incoming shipments to verify the items against bills of lading, purchase orders, packaging slips, materials, or other records.* Scanning and filing of all required traceability documentation.* Follows procedures to maintain traceability at all times.* Completes shipping, receiving and material transactions in ERP system.* Organizing the shipping/receiving areas and general yard storage areas.* Assist with physical inventory.* Assist welding team with data logging.* Assist machine shop with set-ups, shop movements, empty hoppers.* Assist Quality Inspectors with detailed receiving inspections.* Other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Experience:* Required: FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE IS A MUST! Must have experience with Heavy Duty 25T - 70T forklifts (i.e. Hyster) and 10-20T overhead crane* Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).* To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined above for this position in a satisfactory manner.* Must have excellent organizational skills.* Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a material handler, shipping or receiving technician or similar* Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and 5S* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products and ERP systems* Ability to speaking Spanish and English a plusPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the United States.
