New **We are looking for a Material Handler I for the REH Materials Management CA Department at St. Mary Medical Center.** Location: Apple Valley, CA Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours Shift: 8-hour, Days **Job Summary:** Responsible for receipt, distribution, return, and quantity on hand accuracy, and remaining warehouse related responsibilities regarding goods and services, using current and approved Materials Management policies and procedures. Is proficient in the use of the computer functions for securing and tracking product to assure that automated stores inventories match actual stores inventories. Operationally contributes to managers' goal of controlling the dollar value of inventories on hand, balancing optimum turnover with minimum adequate supply, and insuring fiscal responsibility. **Essential Functions:**

* Assesses all deliveries for the presence and extent of damage when applicable; matches incoming items with the packing slip and the receiving document. Accurately logs into computer in a timely manner to support inventory control of the MMIS.

* Coordinates with Supply Chain Coordinator for items to be returned to vendors and assist Supply Chain Coordinator with resolution any supply outages or variances in quantity on hand immediately.

* Ensures pulling accuracy by using bin locations, item descriptions and, manufacturer catalog number. Edits/validates system on-hand quantities and issue/order quantities. Communicates immediately and assists Supply Chain Coordinator with any discrepancies.

* Fills all department stock orders to ensure delivery on or before scheduled delivery day. Makes delivery adjustments to ensure delivery of patient care related supplies. Notifies immediately and assists Supply Chain Coordinator with pull variances due to stock outs, shortages, etc.

* Sends all capital/electrical equipment to the Engineering/Bio-Med departments to be tagged and safety checked. Complete work orders for appropriate departments.

* Ensures prompt and professional feedback to requesters for all inquiries of department services with a high level of customer service.

* Maintains working knowledge of the Material Management Information System to facilitate efficient operation and maximize benefits. Independently seeks education/training when needed.

* Deliver all items each day in a timely manner and obtains legible and valid signatures as well as printed names for accepted delivered supplies. Notates in current RAD system when nobody was available to sign for delivery and actions taken.

* Keeps the storeroom and dock area clean and orderly at all times. Ensures that aisle/row/shelf/bin locations exist for all stock items and are compatible with what is defined in the computer. Rotates appropriate supplies to ensure First In First Out (F.I.F.O.) and avoid expired product. Sweeps and removes cartons and boxes daily. Maintains regulatory compliance.

* Monitors departmental demand requests to identify departments that may need a frequency/par level review. Makes adjustments/recommendations on an as needed basis.

* Ensures pulling and issues are in proper UOMs and performs a full warehouse cycle count each month. Communicate to Supply Chain Coordinator immediately of any variances and assist in resolution.

* Closely follows policies and procedures in managing refrigerated/perishable items.

* Participates in all warehouse related performance improvement initiatives.

* Annual Evaluation:

+ Completes annual Department Specific Focused Competencies.

+ Demonstrates ongoing education and training to maintain job skills and knowledge (see employee education record).

+ Completes annual competencies and Employee Health Requirements.

**Skills:**

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Basic computer skills.

**Minimum Position Requirements:** **Experience:** Verifiable Supply Chain or warehouse experience. **Licenses/Certifications:**

* Valid California Drivers License.

* Auto Insurance.

* Good driving record.
