**POSITION SUMMARY**

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties:

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** (The section is not intended to be an all-inclusive list and NGK Ceramics reserves the right to include other duties as assigned)**:**

* Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to the appropriate storage or work areas

* Compares identifying information and counts; weighs or measures items from incoming and outgoing shipments and verifies information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, etc.

* Unpacks and examines incoming shipments; rejects damaged items; records shortages; corresponds with shipping companies in order to rectify damages and shortages; and operates metal strapping machine

* Routes items to various departments

* Examines outgoing shipments and verifies that all shipments meet specifications

* Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, lifting devices and trailers; stacks pallets of finished products; and is responsible for shoring overseas containers

* Transports and empties mixed trash, recyclables, and waste bins into the appropriate hoppers

* Stages packaging materials for the inspection department

* Understands and complies with the companys purchase order procedures

* Completes shipping notices and packages items scheduled for shipment; completes miscellaneous office documents; and uses Epicor CMS ERP software application, as required

* Performs the required duties at off-site warehouse, as needed, including receiving raw materials; verifying paperwork; writing raw material lot codes on the super stacks; arranging rows by raw material lot and writing the locations on the Location Board

* Drives the 24 foot truck within the gates of our main site.

* Replaces the empty liquefied gas tanks, as needed

* Works safely by avoiding other forklifts and pedestrians; using safety mirrors; and sounding horn when entering or exiting the buildings

* Performs the safety inspection of lift truck at the beginning of each shift; and verifies the safe condition of the truck by completing the inspection log before using the lift truck

* Participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and G5S (Global 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities as needed

* Follows all EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures, including the disposal of waste and used materials

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

**REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

**Required Education and/or Experience**

* Must be able to successfully complete all required job training.

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

* 6 month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent

* CRC Bronze or above

**Required Language Skills**

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to complete forms, tags, labels and documents.

**Required Mathematical Skills**

* Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals**.**

**Required Reasoning Ability**

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

* Fork Lift License

* Must have a valid drivers license

* Must pass a background check

* Certified Production Technician program completion, preferred

**VIII. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/PPE**

- Safety shoes must be worn while on NGK property.

- Hearing protection is required in designated areas.

- Respirators are required in designated areas or under prescribed work conditions.

- Face shield, thermal gloves and apron may be required while performing certain job duties.

- Goggles may be required while performing certain job duties.
