There are also opportunities to continue your career at GE in Bohemia or across the globeBenefits: Our range of benefits includes health care starting on day one, 401 (k) savings plans with generous employer match, paid time off and moreEducation Assistance: GE encourages employees to continue their education and provides financial support to further employee learningWork environment: GE Aviation Systems facility located in Islip, Long Island is dedicated to the design and manufacture of power conversion & control products, Battery systems, Lighting Controllers, Frequency Converters, Digital Control Products, Control Panels, Inverters, Power supplies and Advanced power conversion applicationsRoles and Responsibilities:Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Receives, stores, issues and ships components and/or finished products within and outside facility.Performs basic tasks relative to material handling in various stages of manufacturing including but not limited to receiving, storing, kitting, counting, bagging, tagging, packing and shipping of materialsValidates counts and paperwork including reconciliation of discrepant countsOrder and manage suppliesAbility to interpret, investigate and take action on transactions inquires & messages in OracleValidates inventory accuracy via cycle count mechanism including reconciliation of discrepant counts, recommending procedure changes to improve accuracyManual transfer of material between projectsMaintains and files source documents in a timely manner to support the inventory control processReleases kits to picking and production floor (Stockroom)Provides training and mentoring for other employees as requiredPerforms picks up and delivery as requiredIssues back orders and floor shortages to production departments (Stockroom)Utilizes MRP systems for material transactions and data entry in a timely mannerPerforms other routine procedures within fairly similar situations resulting in standardized but not identical outcomesUtilizes written or visual instructions based on standard operating proceduresProvide written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situationsAbility to perform basic maintenance on foam packing machine (Shipping)Accessing customer/carrier portals (Shipping)Assists in physical inventory countsKeeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly mannerUnderstands and complies with all Company, safety rules and regulationsEngages and participates in a self-directed teaming environmentRequirements/Knowledge:Education Required:High School Diploma or GEDExperience1-3 years of manufacturing experienceSkill Level Required:Basic computer skillsMust be able to lift up to 30lbs.Must be willing to stand for long periods of timeSkills required in simple mathematical countingShould possess dexterity skills, good hand & eye coordinationDesired Qualifications:Experience working in stockroom, shipping or receiving functionsPast experience in a manufacturing environmentPast experience in a selfdirected teaming environmentLean manufacturing/continuous improvement knowledgeValid driver's licenseThe base pay range for this position is $20 - $25/hr. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate s experience, education, and skill set.
