Material Handler
: Job Details :

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the proper movement of inventory from location to location and the associated system transactions that are required with the movement of inventory. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of computer systems as it applies to inventory control. Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience in production and inventory control environment. A lift truck license and computer data entry skills and strong math skills are a plus. Associate must be experienced and trained with Hilite's environmental aspects and impacts for the jobs they perform. PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Works closely with: Supervisors and Line leaders Materials Manager Freight Carriers Supply Chain Specialists Shipping Coordinator Quality PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Move inventory between locations in support of the production schedule and customer requirements.

Make all system transactions associated with the movement of inventory.

Receiving MRP parts into MFG Pro for proper payment

Issue components to work orders, close out work orders when completed and file.

Ensure the efficient operation of the Kan Ban system.

Receive product from suppliers ensuring that shipping documentation matches with actual product received. Make all required system transactions to receive product into inventory. This includes proper identification of material.

Organization and Cleanliness of Receiving, Supermarket, and Assembly material storage areas.

Communication between Materials and Team Operations on material issues.

Must maintain current fork truck license.

Serve as back up for the Shipping Department.

Maintain FIFO throughout receiving, supermarket, assembly locations and shipping

Work with Supply Chain Specialists to monitor inventory and maintain established inventory levels.

Note: The Material Handler position is responsible for material movement in support of production requirements. From time to time this may require the Material Handlers to be responsible for duties not listed above.
