While reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for all good inwards, distributing the received goods to the relevant production needs. The material handler will also inspect and prepare completed products for processing and shipping. Safety is our first concern and the team is expected to comply with safety rules & regulations. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success and be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

**Principles:**

* Be Safe Dont take risks with safety

* Dont let down a colleague do something to help

* Dont let down a customer do something to impress

* Dont tolerate inefficiencies make a noise about them

Day to day responsibilities will include:

* Adhering to all Standard Working Practices (SWPs)

* Following all Safety rules and risk assessments/JSAs and be an active participant in safety.

* Performing all daily/weekly inspections and housekeeping of assigned department

* Receiving cylinders and supplies from customers/venders.

* Inspecting and preparing cylinders to the necessary manufacturing specifications.

* Inspecting and preparing cylinders for shipment, per customer and Trident requirement.

* Using measuring devices and tools necessary for the role.

* Accurate and timely completion of any required administrative responsibilities.

* Assisting other team members (as needed) to meet production needs.

* Following company protocols, policies and goals while acting on opportunities to optimize the efficiency of the department.

* Managing your schedule to achieve agreed production timings, liaising with production resources on daily production needs while elevating any concerns should timings prove unachievable.

* Continuing focus on quality (your own, and that of others) to ensure product is produced to the necessary customer/printer/Trident standards.

This position is in our Sonoco Trident plant in Richmond, VA

* We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven

* **You must have at least one-year of Forklift Experience (Required)**

* You will need to have exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.

* You have to have a get it done attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.

* To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills

* You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

* Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.

* You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.

* You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

* Physical work including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.

* Must be willing to work outside of regular shift hours including weekends if production or customer demands require it.
