Position Summary

Central Power Systems & Services (CPS&S) is the only authorized distributor for Allison Transmissions, Detroit Diesel, MTU and Mercedes engines in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. CPS&S has been serving the Commercial Equipment and Manufacturing needs of the lower Midwest region with top quality On-Highway, Industrial and Power Generation products and services since 1954.

What you'll do:

You will work within our Riverside production facility being directly responsible for forklift operation, restocking production line, and other duties as assigned by management. It is helpful to have had at least one year of experience in working with parts sales. Experience with MTU, Detroit Diesel, Allison, CAT, or Cummins products is even better. All candidates should be highly motivated, have basic computer skills and excellent communication skills. Previous MRP experience a bonus.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a team environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and sound judgment to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to perform this job successfully and must be able to perform all essential functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Supply the assigned manufacturing area(s) with raw materials, parts, supplies and dunnage to maintain uptime.
  • Operate assigned mobile equipment, including fork trucks, safely and with due consideration to pedestrians. Perform inspections/maintenance of assigned mobile equipment as required.
  • Operating all equipment, machines, or other devices in a manner that provides a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Ensures that all materials and finished goods are stored and labeled with proper documentation.
  • Take inventory counts as required; make sure parts/finished goods are stored in designated locations.
  • Be present at work, ready to work at the assigned time for every scheduled workday.
  • Follow all work instructions for all assigned operations.
  • Work safely, following safety work instructions.
  • Report to supervision the absence of, or defect in, any equipment or protective device of which you are aware, and which may endanger the health and safety of yourself or another worker.
  • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies.

Work Environment:

  • Working in an office and plant environment
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support production
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to work in loud environments
  • Ability to use hands, arms and wrist to work continuously throughout shift
  • Safety shoes and safety glasses are required
  • Contribute to safe, clean and comfortable work environment by applying the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support)

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Use of computer and phone
  • Overtime as required

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
