Job Description:

1st shift Material Handler

PAY:

15.90-18.90/HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

SHIFT:

6: 45 am - 3:15pm Monday to Friday

Essential Functions

  • Transporting Materials
  • Packing
  • Inventory Processing
  • Transporting Materials
  • Drive/ maneuver tow motor, handcart, or pallet jack
  • After arriving at proper location, use lift gears to adjust for position and maneuver materials or use proper body mechanics to lift materials and place in proper locations
  • Handle skids of raw material with tow motor/ cart
  • Take raw material to press room
  • Return unused materials to storeroom
  • Move parts to and from plating department
  • Unload trucks and distribute material to proper locations (includes UPS receiving)
  • Take inbound shipments of flashlight parts to receiving inspection
  • Empty hoppers of scrap into large outside luggers
  • Take all finished parts to shipping, parts stores or holding area
  • Dump parts out of bulk container into shipping container
  • Packing
  • Put appropriate material into boxes
  • Use electronic or manual scale to weigh materials and skids
  • Push/ pull box along roller line
  • Fold box flaps and use tape to seal
  • Operate bar code label system- Weber Marketing machine
  • Use banding machine to band boxes together when necessary
  • Shrink wrap boxes together on a skid when appropriate
  • May need to cut boxes down with utility knife if too large
  • Inventory Processing
  • Go through packing slips to check for any packaging requirements
  • Pull packing slips as needed
  • Processing paperwork including bill of ladings and UPS shipping and receiving
  • Keep track of packaging supplies and shipping materials
  • Keep written records of all material on hand
  • Record materials to and from work in process
  • Check each shipment to assure materials received check with freight bills and packing slips
  • Keep current records of rejected material, includes keeping inspection department informed of weights
  • Keep an orderly system of raw material locations
  • Maintain current inventory of scrap on hand
  • Assist truck driver with part numbers and quantities of stamping and flashlight parts going to outside services
  • Affix proper labels/tags to boxes
