This is NOT a temporary position!SUMMARYAs the Logistics Manager you will work in a dynamic and fast paced environment to plan, quote, and schedule our incoming and outgoing shipments while ensuring accurate and timely delivery to our customers. This role will coordinate between internal departments and management as well as build and maintain relationships with new and current carriers.RESPONSIBILITIESEngage drivers and customers in a friendly and professional manner.Answer phone calls and resolve inquiries.Plan, quote, route, and schedule incoming / outgoing deliveries of steel parts and plates utilizing Frontier drivers and outside carriers to execute on-time deliveries.Involves optimizing routes, allocating resources like vehicles and drivers, and ensuring that goods are delivered to their destinations on time and cost-effectively.Scheduling involves managing our four trucks, outside carriers, direct shipments from outside vendors, and brokers for all loads.Make appointments and send advance notifications of deliveries to the sales team and customers.Scheduling All LTL and UPS/FED Ex (palleted and Boxed material)Prepare & ensure accuracy of shipping documents such as Bill of Ladings, MTRs, & Loading PlansSet delivery appointments, order permits and relay pickup information to drivers and carriers.Receive and ensure accuracy of incoming materials into the computer system.Oversee Scanning shipping and receiving documents into the system.Oversee Distribution of incoming and outgoing shipping paperwork and tags to shop coordinators and drivers.Communicate with other departments to resolve delivery issues.Ensure Sign off on and proper signatures for satisfactory deliveries.Oversee driver sign-in sheet, and freight log.Maintain inventory of materials and supplies (Note: Inventory management is not part of the role; however, understanding and learning all aspects of inventory is crucial)Assist managers ,shipping coordinator and floor personnel as neededResearch means to increase freight availability and lower shipping rates.Provide status updates and tracking information to the sales department and customers.Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and company regulations.Maintain a current freight rate table to provide accurate and up to date freight ratesRetain accurate records of freight logs, rates, and fleet documents.Maintain DMV Documents for All Samuel Drivers and EquipmentWork with Leasing companies on all aspects of Maintenance for Fleet VehiclesMaintain all aspects of ELD equipment and requirements.Perform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSQuick critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve shipping conflicts in a timely mannerStrong organizational skills to keep up with changing priorities in a fast paced, time sensitive environmentAbility to adapt to changing processes, regulations, and technologyStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient computer, data entry, and internet skills primarily Windows OS & MS Office SuiteAbility to work independently and as part of a team environmentRECOMMENDED EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in logisticsKnowledge of supply chain and warehouse operationsKnowledge of the steel industryINCENTIVESCompetitive CompensationPaid vacation and annual bonusHealth, dental vision and life insuranceRetirement with company matchOpportunity for advancement and career growthWeekly PayStarting at $55K a yearFirst Shift
