Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement and storage of materials within our facility. Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for shipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Receive inbound inventory, place materials into storage, pull inventory from storage to fill customer orders, and load material on trucks.
- Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, cranes, other material handling equipment to move material to/from trucks or trailers.
- Cleaning parts using hand/pedestal grinders or other metal finishing equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid forklift license is required.
- Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems is a plus.
- Experience with overhead cranes
