Job Description: Reporting to the Extrusion Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the development and implementation of sound material handling practices to support Total Customer Satisfaction of both internal and external customers. Insure that all incoming and outgoing products in manufacturing are accurately documented and properly identified, moved and stored. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage central material system activities; work with supervisors, set-ups and extrusion operators regarding daily schedule and material changes. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Support extrusion and finishing departments with material/equipment moves. Make sure extrusion lines do not run out of materials and finishing areas are changed over promptly and any materials needed are supplied in a timely manner to eliminate any un-necessary downtime.
  • Maintain accurate inventory controls by adhering to CPI procedures and perform material handling functions such as documentation and recordkeeping in a timely manner.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, trays and shelves. Remove sample materials and mark them with identifying tags/information.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, by following daily housekeeping and 5S standards. Support employees with value-added activities. Continuous improvement and 5S.
  • Communicate all job orders and their status to other material handlers at shift change.

Strength in the following areas required:
  • Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel)
  • Basic Math Skills; Problem Solving
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
  • 5S/Lean Manufacturing/Kanban
  • ERP/MRP Experience; Bar Code Scanning Experience
  • Previous HILO/Forklift License
Physical Demands:
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs.
  • The noise level in this work environment is moderate.
  • This employee works in the warehouse and loading docks which may be subject to cold and hot working conditions.
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection and closed toe shoes must be worn on the production floor
Requirements Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of material handling experience required; a suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
