Position Title: Material HandlerWage: $20.50/hourShift: 1stHours: 6:00am - 2:00pmQPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Des Plaines, IL. In this role the Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement and storage of materials within the production facility. Key duties include monitoring inventory levels, operating forklifts, and ensuring accurate material transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Material Handler Responsibilities: - Monitor and request materials and color from storage locations to production lines - Ensure lines have materials delivered in a timely manner to avoid potential extrusion line shutdowns - Manage transactions performed by computer or a RF hand scanner such as receipts, moves, counts, reservations and/or other transactions needed - Scan, apply LP label, and move finished or fabricated products from production lines to correct warehouse/storage locations - Perform daily forklift inspections - Reports damage or discrepancies to the Quality Manger and/or Distribution Lead - Perform non-electronic entries such as scrap with accuracy and date with handwritten entries on paper - Perform cycle counts, as requested, to ensure inventory accuracy to avoid stock outs - Re-weigh or recount materials being returned to proper locations - Assist production as time permitsRequirements for Material Handler: - High School Diploma or GED - At least three years of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred - Forklift certification...@qpsemployment.comIND133QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
