Material Handler

Job Summary:The Material Handler will be responsible for unloading product deliveries and staging products based on daily business requirements. This individual will also play a pivotal role with organizing and maintaining existing inventory.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Duties/Responsibilities:* Load, unload, and convey materials using hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.* Moves and stores a variety of materials, parts, or products.* Checks incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy and match to the company purchase order. In addition, responsible to report any shortages or damage to the shipment.* Works closely with the purchasing group to monitor supply levels and submits purchasing recommendations on a regular basis.* Transfers materials between departments, using hand or power truck.* Fills orders from storage areas and delivers to designated departments.* Stacks pallets, arranges materials as directed and adheres to safety guidelines in performing such work.* Open containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information.* Understands and implements those ISO 9000 procedures that relate to the role and responsibilities of a Material Handler.Required Skills/Abilities:* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Ability to function well in a team environment.Education and Experience:* High school diploma or equivalent.* 2+ years' experience in material handling including the operations of powered material handling equipment preferred.* 1+ year's inventory management experience.* Current and valid OSHA forklift operation certificate.* QAD/MFGPro system experience a plus.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unaided from the floor to the chest frequently.Salary range: $18.00/hour, actual compensation will be based on experience.About Us: CCL Industries Inc. employs approximately 25,300 people operating 205 production facilities in 43 countries with corporate offices in Toronto, Canada, and Framingham, Massachusetts.
