We manufacture pads and below ground enclosures for telecommunications, electrical, CATV, water, traffic, lighting, and industrial applications. Location: Lebanon, Tennessee Reporting to: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Type: Full time Shift: 1st shift Job Summary The Material Handler plays a crucial role in an efficient operation by managing the flow of materials and products. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials or products according to established procedures. Job Responsibilities
  • Perform job functions in accordance with work instructions.
  • Use of warehouse scanners (RF gun).
  • Coordinate with departments to move, ship, and receive material, as needed.
  • Load dumpster and manage trash bins as necessary.
  • Keep production lines flowing.
  • Sustain communication with purchasing regarding raw material levels.
  • Maintain areas to be free of clutter.
  • Assist in cleaning and 6S of the production floor.
  • Other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Experience with the following equipment: sit down forklift, stand-up reach truck, and walkie stacker.
  • Exposure to manufacturing practices, shop floor techniques, and/or assembly line practices is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
  • Labeling every product and placing them accordingly
  • Ability to do physical labor and other physical tasks, standing, stooping, walking and being aware of the plant production procedure.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.).
  • Ability to stand, bend, or twist for extended periods of time, and move about the production areas as needed.
  • Ability to work with both hands to lift, handle, and manipulate inventory items. Must be able to work with small hand tools like scanners and tape guns and some powered equipment.
  • Ability to kit, count, and package small inventory items for production.
  • Objects of various sizes and shapes will be handled or moved on table surfaces, storage bins and carts or racks. Rarely team lifting will be required to handle objects over 50 pounds or objects of an awkward shape.
  • Specific PPE requirements include, but are not limited to: safety vest, steel toe shoes, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to read and understand written materials that include words, pictures, and numbers.
