Westinghouse is currently accepting resumes for Material Handlers to work Long term at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant located in York SC. this is a local position.
Brief Description:
Assist the distribution team with issuing and distribution of material, equipment and supplies during Outages and On-Line operations.
Qualification Required:
* Must meet minimum education requirements, High School Diploma or equivalent.
* 2 to 3 years of material handling experience.
* Must have the ability to be forklift qualified and maintain qualifications. (Various Forklifts, Stand and Reach, Motorize Pallet Jack, Ottawa operation and other moving equipment.)
* Must have the ability to operate the more complex and critical equipment associated with Material Handler Duties
* Training requirements for unescorted access to the nuclear facility to include Radiation Worker Training (RWT)
* Capable of lifting 50 lbs. (heavy lifting required from time to time.)
* Must have a valid State issued Driver's License.
* Basic Computer Skills
* Proactively support Westinghouse and Duke Energy programs, policies, procedures, strategic plans, and specific goals.
* Possess good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures, and directives associated with working at a nuclear power plant.
* Commitment to personal safety and industrial safety.
* Be assertive and self-motivated, with ability to work independently or with minimum oversight.
* Must pass DOT Physical
Work Schedule
40-hour work week-Monday-Thursday operating 10-hour days during online periods. Ability to support on-call as needed and increased work hours including overtime during outage periods.
Wage and Compensation
Pay rate shall be discussed during the interview process. Selected candidate will be eligible for contract specific benefits which include medical, dental, 401k, paid holiday, and vacation time (PTO).
