Job Description:
Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of products throughout the manufacturing facility, such as, moving products to storage locations, taking material to production lines, etc. The Material Handler will be handling garage door components or raw materials by hand or with the aid of equipment.Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Move materials to and from loading areas, storage areas and production lines.
  • Maintain proper rotation of raw materials/packaging/finished goods per FIFO.
  • Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse to help maintain inventory.
  • Analyze pick sheets based on customers' orders and pull the appropriate products/materials.
  • Operate various machinery to handle materials and inventory.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be a self-managing employee.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat to perform loading/unloading assignment(s).
  • Must be able to read and interpret, in English, job related documents and possess good to excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain focus of tasks at hand with high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to follow an established routine and able to interact in a team environment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to maintain focus of tasks at hand with attention to detail.

  • Successful candidates must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently without continuous supervision.
  • Work with an understanding that they are a member of a team where success for one is measured by success for all.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Perform general math calculations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Able to operate material handling equipment such as, but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods.
  • Work environment may be hot or cold depending on weather.
