Job DetailsJob Location Lynn Plant - Lynn, MA Description JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Materials Handler Lead, provides continuous and efficient operation of the material handling and issuing process, as well as all subsequent inventory transactions. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES Adheres to safe working practices at all times
- Performs daily checks of area for non-compliance and reports them to manager
- Retrieves and scans out raw materials from coolers to production
- Communicates and resolves LPN variances
- Follows the company GMPs
- Ensures clean and tidy work areas at all times
- Plans ahead for all activities to reduce downtime
- Tracks completed transactions via Material Requirements Report
- Completes cycle-counts when required
- Communicates and updates all relevant parties of any issues or changes
- Takes active lead with new employees and temporary labor; cross-trains other employees and answers quesitons from co-workers, but is not responsible for performance management
- Encourages colleagues to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
- Takes instructions from supervisors
- Any other tasks deemed reasonable and reasonably requested by management
- Communicates an end of shift / Hands-off to the next shift
- Cleans and checks equipment at end of shift
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Works under general supervision. Makes decisions within clearly prescribed areas referring matters that fall outside that area to others.
- Position is not responsible for influencing the decisions or actions of others.
- Position has little to no contact with customers.
- Position makes indirect contributions to efforts that generate moderate levels of revenue.
- Decisions or actions have a limited impact on the business. typically within a department. Errors are usually detected through routine verification/review, but may result in some work flow disruption or repetition of work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cross-trains other employees and answers quesitons from co-workers, but is not responsible for performance management.
SKILL REQUIRED
- No formal education is required.
- Requires 1-3 years of experience
- On-the-job training of 0-3 months.
- Basic data entry and simple formatting of documents.

- Work requires continious physical exertion including lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Mental & Visual Demands
- Work performed by this position requires moderate mental concentration to effectively execute moderately complex tasks.
- Work occasionally requires some degree of visial effort for periods of time.
Work Environment and Hazards
- Employee works in a manufacturing setting with frequent exposure to heat/cold, dust, or other factors that may require protective equiptment and still pose a hazard.
- This position has regular exposure to hazards that could result in siginficant injury and lengthy loss of time at work.
- Travel is not required for this position.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Bilingual or English speaking preferred
- Warehouse & Manufacturing experience preferably in the food industry
- Experience working in temperature-controlled settings
- Understands Inventory at a conceptual level
- Experience performing inventory transactions via scan gun
- Ability to operate a pallet jack / forklift
- Goal oriented & well organized
- Ability to work all scheduled shifts, on time
- Able to interact and communicate with the supervisors and team members
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Good numeracy skills
