Job Description:
Position SummaryThe Material Handler - Light Manufacturing will be responsible for assisting with barcoding materials when assembled. They will also be responsible for special orders that require cut downs and communicating with the Sales team on returns.Essential Responsibilities
  • Works with other departments to get products for trim kit orders.
  • Cuts down material as needed for customer special orders and ensures that they are properly packaged and labeled correctly.
  • Performs a quality inspection prior to shipment, may need to rebuild and band units.
  • Assists with documenting and performing inventory control functions to process conversions correctly.
  • Uses master templates to accurately cut product to specs.
  • Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with Supervisor.
  • Performs an inspection at the beginning of the shift and report any equipment malfunctions or damages to your supervisor that you may use.
  • May communicate with the Sales Department regarding special orders and returns.
  • May operate Power Industrial Equipment to move product and pallets throughout warehouse safely.
  • May assist in processing returns from customers ensuring proper paperwork has been completed.
  • Maintains work pace required to achieve production demands and complete required paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Must be 18 years of older.
  • Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc.
  • Able to visually inspect items for defects prior to pulling the item.
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc.
  • Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
  • Must be able to pass all Novo forklift training and operate a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.
  • Must be able to use radio frequency scanner.
  • Use of proper PPE and company approved tools while remaining aware of possible hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience lifting wide loads, as long as 17' long.
