Position Description:Ryerson has an opportunity for a Material Handler Operator position. As a Material Handler Operator you are responsible for assembling material for shipment or machines in accordance with specifications and instructions on orders. The future will be made from metal. At Ryerson, you have the opportunity to grow in your career, work with teammates that feel like family, and help make our world a better place.Roles and Responsibilities: * Select material from specific heats or for physical condition in accordance with instructions on orders * Unload and receive material which includes weighing, counting, and checking sizes. * Identify by color, heat, and/or test numbers. Organize into stock racks or designated areas. * Record necessary information on receiving tickets or other documents * Maintain safety, quality and productivity standards of each job assignment. * Fill in for absent positions as qualified, excluding maintenance, as needed on a daily basis * All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities
Position Requirements:* High School Diploma or GED required * Experience working in metals or warehouse setting * Crane, forklift, and good computer skills are a plus * Must be able to use measuring tools, specifically a tape measure, micrometer, and a caliper * Must be a team player Salary: $20.30 hourly (reflects the entire pay rate). A starting salary higher than $20.30 (minimum pay rate) hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale
