Job DetailsLevel Entry Job Location Terrapin Beer Company - Athens, GA Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Job Category Manufacturing DescriptionJOB TITLE: MATERIAL HANDLER REPACKAGING, FULL-TIMEJob Summary: The Material Handler Repackaging is an entry-level, full-time, hourly position within the Terrapin Beer Company Packaging department. Under the direction of Packaging Department management team, this position is responsible for assisting with the daily packaging operations as detailed below. The incumbent will report directly to the Shift Supervisor - Repackaging. As a condition of employment, this position is required to work a set day shift Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and that may include extended shifts, weekends and Holidays. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform loading and unloading of finished products from applicable conveyor belts.
  • Monitor finished goods for mis-labeling and possible mixing of products.
  • Safely operate all departmental equipment which includes Switchback 150 and hand bottling/labeling equipment.
  • Move finished products and materials from the Repackaging area and other production work areas utilizing hand trucks, pallets jacks and powered industrial trucks.
  • As directed, load and unload trailers in line with Company standard operating procedures.
  • Operates warehouse equipment (e.g. powered industrial trucks, hand trucks, hand tools, etc.) for the purpose of moving large and heavy items safely and efficiently. Must be certified to operate all Company powered industrial trucks and undergo yearly recertification by the Safety Director.
  • Stack finished goods and raw materials onto pallets in a pre-defined stacking pattern in designated areas.
  • Hand label bottles and packaged goods with appropriate date stamps.
  • Utilize chemicals to clean machinery in department in adherence with safety standards and company standard operating procedures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the safe operation of equipment.
  • As directed, maintain a safe, clean work environment that includes general housekeeping and warehouse duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify all Emergency Stops on all equipment within work areas.
  • Assist other Material Handlers in feeding repack materials into appropriate machinery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsKnowledge & Skills Requirements: The ideal candidate would have prior work experience in either manufacturing, warehousing or distribution. (Or) prior work experience in a fast-paced, process-oriented work setting. Completion of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. Applicants, without an accommodation, must have the ability to frequently reach, twist, stoop, bend, crouch, stand and walk for 10 hour shifts. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. repeatedly. Applicants must be able to wear personal protective equipment and work in varying weather conditions that includes humidity and seasonal temperature changes. Applicants, without an accommodation, must be able to operate powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks for the purpose of moving large and heavy pallets safely and efficiently. Applicants will be required to undergo yearly recertification by the Human Resources & Safety department. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a comprehensive background check in line with Company policy.
