Material Handler

As a material handler, you'll provide support for all warehouse functions including, but not limited to outgoing and incoming meters, material distribution, meter preparation, and testing, receiving, and directing visitors, completion of essential paperwork, and distribution of information to appropriate departments.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assign meters/materials to installation techs for daily work

  • Complete data entry for incoming and outgoing meters, and research and respond to all material-related inquiries.

  • Perform other tasks as required by Warehouse Supervisor and Project Management.

  • Embrace and enforce Safety Policy and Core Values.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.

  • Ability to independently manage own time by prioritizing, planning, and organizing work to complete workload and meet deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, ability to work with little supervision

  • Computer and smartphone literate

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to lift 50lbs. throughout the day

  • Ability to pull, lift, push, pick up and place down items throughout the day

  • This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

  • Mechanical and/or electric experience is preferred.

  • Experience in the use of basic hand and power tools.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • A valid Driver's License is required.

  • Ability to obtain DOT Med Card within 90 days of employment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the start-up location.

Physical Requirements:

  • Rarely (less than 10%): Sitting, Crawling, and Climbing Poles

  • Occasionally (up to 33%): Stooping, Kneeling, Squatting, Body Twisting, Climbing Ladders, and Climbing Stairs.

  • Frequently (up to 66 %): Walking, Manual Dexterity, Climbing On/Off a truck, Lifting Over 10 lbs. up to 50 lbs., Reaching, Depth Perception, Pulling, Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Gripping, Seeing, Hearing-Speech Range, Color Vision, Lifting, Sense of Touch, Range of Motion, Pushing, Carrying, Balancing, Lifting Up to 10 lbs., and Lifting Up to 50 lbs.

  • Continuously (up to 100%): Seeing, Standing, Reading Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Gripping, Seeing, Hearing-Speech Range, Color Vision, Lifting, Carrying, Balancing, and Lifting Up to 10 lbs.

Safety:

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
