We are urgently hiring Material Handlers for a major American manufacturer of diagnostic healthcare products . T his position is responsible for processing daily distribution tasks specific to loading, unloading, moving/transferring, and transacting materials to support in-plant logistics. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months experience operating a forklift. Apply today for immediate consideration. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies
- Performs physical counts of inventory
- Transports materials between departments, facilities, and/or production floor
- Transacts inventory/material movements in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with strong inventory control practices
- Assures the accurate counting, staging and storage of materials and supplies
- Operates warehouse vehicles such sit down, stand up and side-loader forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material handling equipment in narrow aisles and cold storage facilities
- Follows all standard operation procedures and GMP guidelines
- Adheres to all safety training and instructions and has knowledge of materials and safety
- Participates in the effective training of other employees
- Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
REQUIREMENTS
- Position requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more at least 35 % of the day on a regular basis.
- Walking, standing, and climbing for long periods of time (up to 50% of the day) are routine tasks to accomplish tasks in this role.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must operate a forklift
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of previous work experience
- Previous experience in a GMP environment preferred
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and transaction data entry
- Strong verbal and written communication written skills
- Basic math skills
- Hands-on experience supplying materials to production work orders
