Job Summary: The Shredding Dept. Material Handlers work primarily with cheese products, taking them from their storage and preparing them to shred the final product. Individuals should have a can-do attitude and be ready to work with the team with respect and kindness to complete our production goals. The employee must follow all policies and procedures set by the company. Reporting relationships:
- The Line Workers will be directly supervised by the Shredding Supervisor, with occasional supervision by other supervisors in the department.
- Indirectly supervised by the shredding Manager and the Operations Manager.
- Duties/Responsibilities:
Description of the Function
- Organize and transport products from the cooler. Verify that the correct product for each make is used.
- Lift and cut blocks of cheese into shapes, and shred and grind the cheese using specialized equipment.
- Mix shredded and ground cheeses according to recipe specifications.
- Operate the trash compactor, Koch sealer, and manual or motorized pallet jack.
- Return used or partially used material and products to their locations following procedure.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including all common areas of the company.
- Assist in other areas of Just the Cheese™ or other parts of the company, as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Experience:

- Experience in either a manufacturing environment or in food service of any kind is preferred.
Licensure Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- This position is performed standing. Individuals must be able to stand for at least 4 hours consecutively.
- This position requires that the individual lift objects which weigh up to 45 lbs. regularly.
- This position is performed in an environment where the individual can be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Employees will be provided with adequate training before performing tasks that involve chemicals.
- This position is performed in an environment where slips, trips, and falls may be a hazard. Employees will be required to maintain adequate footwear provided by the company.
