MATERIAL MOVER B - NILES

$1500 Hiring Bonus!!

Hours: Rotating Shifts

We are a well-established, Omaha-based manufacturer with over 65 years of providing quality products to our clients. Phillips Manufacturing is the one-stop shop for drywall finishing accessories, lath, stucco accessories, metal channels, interior framing, and fire-rated assemblies with facilities around the country.

A Material Mover B performs a wide variety of tasks focused on shipping/receiving, warehousing, maintaining & moving inventory, assembling orders and accurate data reporting. May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate movement of products throughout production facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine appropriate materials to be moved.
  • Operate all forklifts and attached equipment; exhibiting a high level of safe practices at all times to ensure no damage or harm to the operator, other persons, forklift, physical structures, or the product.
  • Reports mechanical or electric problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Inventories material on production floor; supplies workers with materials as needed to maintain continuity of operations.
  • Tracks, records and communicates material information to appropriate persons or on appropriate reports or systems.
  • Keeps correct pallets, cartons, wagons ready for various operating units.
  • Banding and warehousing of finished product to specification.
  • Visually inspect materials being received or shipped for proper product, count, etc. and removes defective material.
  • Removes bracing and installs same as required for proper loading and safe shipping.
  • Properly labels and tags materials.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality, including rotating shifts and being available for overtime whether offered on a voluntary or mandatory basis.
  • Observe all plant safety rules and regulations, wear proper safety attire at all times.
  • Responsible for locating material in plant in accordance with loading requirements and transporting to truck as required.
  • Responsible for proper product identification to prevent errors in receiving or shipping and proper recording on necessary forms for all product received or shipped.
  • Operate crane and attached equipment; exhibiting a high level of safe practices at all times to ensure no damage or harm to the operator, other persons, crane, physical structures, or the product.
  • Operate cranes for unloading and loading carriers.
  • Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
  • Inventory of raw materials.
  • Materials, Tools, Equipment Used:

    • Steel coils, product, lubricants, banding equipment/tools, packaging and unitizing materials.
    • Operates all plant material handling equipment (hi-Lifts/Cranes/Up-Enders), pallets, marking equipment,
    • calipers, micrometers, tape measures, scales, banding materials, pneumatic staplers and nailers.
