Job Description:
Job Title: Materials Mover / Parts Room Reports To: Materials Manager Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Materials Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring production personnel receive necessary materials throughout the unit-building process. Responsibilities include picking materials from stockroom shelves per the Material Pick List (MPL), delivering them to the production area on wire carts, and maintaining accurate inventory transactions using computer systems or barcode scanners. The role also involves filling Kanban requirements, performing cycle counts, maintaining cleanliness in the stockroom and warehouse, and assisting with department inquiries and requests. The Materials Mover/Parts Room position requires frequent interaction with production employees, engineering staff, and materials team members while providing exceptional support to internal and external customers. Responsibilities:
  • Material Handling:
    • Pick materials from the stockroom per the MPL to meet production schedules.
    • Locate part numbers and bin locations using the computer system.
    • Deliver materials on wire carts to the production prefab area.
    • Respond to inquiries and requests from team coordinators and the Materials Liaison.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Perform accurate inventory transactions to issue materials from inventory to WIP.
    • Monitor and fulfill Kanban inventory requirements daily.
    • Conduct detailed and accurate inventory cycle counts (daily, weekly, quarterly).
  • Support and Collaboration:
    • Work closely with production personnel to provide necessary materials promptly.
    • Assist other departments with returns, part requests, and material needs.
    • Collaborate with engineering staff to ensure production accuracy.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the stockroom and warehouse.
    • Operate forklifts safely to move and transport materials.
    • Compile and organize required information for production and inventory.
    • Adhere to deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
    • Communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person.
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Working Hours:
  • Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Friday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM Flexibility is required for earlier or later shifts as needed.
Position Requirements:
  • Strong mathematical and counting skills.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain accurate inventory counts.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Experience reading and interpreting work orders.
  • Forklift operation experience or willingness to train.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills in various formats (phone, email, face-to-face).
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated.
Experience:
  • Experience with inventory systems, computer data entry, or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of Life Line products is preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, grip, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, and carry materials.
  • Occasionally required to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Use of senses such as sight, touch, sound, and smell is required.

  • Primarily indoor work with occasional exposure to outdoor elements.
