Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the on-time delivery of parts to customers and maintain the accuracy of customer release forecasts, production schedules, and shipping schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Send weekly EDI releases to all vendors.
- Develop and manage a cycle count schedule.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-up and delivery based on vendor schedules.
- Plan and schedule all production activities to align with customer releases.
- Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure consistency and meet customer delivery requirements.
- Notify suppliers of any discrepancies and issue DMNs (Discrepancy Management Notices) as necessary.
- Set up CSAs (Customer Service Agreements), CMIRs (Customer Material Information Records), and Customer Packaging Instructions in SAP.
- Act as a backup for the Shipping Supervisor during their absence or vacation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Department Manager.
- Adhere to and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR (Global Excellence and Results) activities.
- Notify management of any potential problems, concerns, or opportunities for process improvement.
- Comply with all departmental procedures and general company policies where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all MIOSHA (Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration) legislative requirements.
- Maintain conformity with Environment ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Proven experience in:
- Production planning and scheduling, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Inventory control.
- Shipping and receiving processes.
- Proficiency with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and computer software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees across the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid Forklift license is an asset (training can be provided if needed).
- Must have no travel restrictions to Canada, as training will take place in the Toronto area.
