In this role you will have the responsibility of developing piezoelectric ceramics for sensors to be used in sonar systems and other military applications and analyzing and testing materials, parts, and assemblies to determine causes of failure. This includes research and development to generate new or modified ceramic materials, supporting development on transducer assemblies, and transitioning ceramic sensors into production.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or Engineering Strong ceramics background with experience with PZT and other piezoelectric ceramics General understanding of all aspects of ceramic processing from powder formulation through sintering through machining Willingness to do hands-on work in developing and experimenting with new ceramic materials and geometries. Able and willing to participate in lead monitoring program Able and willing to wear a respirator for extended periods of time Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
