GENERAL FUNCTION: Uses blueprints and schematics to determine what materials are needed to complete the job assignment, locates that material and has it transported to the work area. Works with warehouse personnel to determine availability of or back log of material. Maintains the proper paper work involved in the receipt and placement of material.TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:Review blueprints or schematics to verify what materials and their quantity are needed for job completion.Meet with warehouse personnel to ascertain the availability of material in storage or what may be on back ordered.Make arrangements to have available material transported to the job site.Follow up on back ordered material.Maintain paperwork associated with receipt and movement of material.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Fairly strong communication skills. Knowledge of blueprints and schematics along with shipyard terminology.
