POSITION SUMMARY:
* Assist in expanding our understanding and use of WPC products to characterize and specify recycled WPC blends.
* Assist in a phase or key part of a project by analyzing processes, products, or equipment against desired results, including formulation characterization.
* Utilize lab scale and pilot mixing and extrusion equipment to generate and process test blends.
* Perform material screening, sample preparation, and assigned tasks on other thermal process equipment.
* Conduct experiments to improve upon or duplicate various materials and processes.
* Recommends improvements to R&D instrumentation, equipment, and lab procedures based on results analyzed.
* Assist in all trial runs, field evaluations and analysis of customer requirements for a project.
* Present meaningful results and unbiased conclusions to R&D and other technical functions.
* Perform basic maintenance of lab instruments and processing equipment.
* Adhere to Safety First and the I believe in ZERO approach in all activities.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an Associate Degree in engineering, applied or physical science.
Other desired skills:
* Working knowledge of polymer materials processing, testing and equipment.
* Demonstrate ability to analyze and report data, including process equipment troubleshooting.
* Excellent mechanical aptitude.
* Occasional overtime required.
* Understand lab scale processes and technologies for mixing and/or extrusion.
