Job Summary

This position will be approximately 3 months in duration.

The Supply Chain Associate is responsible for inventory management, tracking supply arrivals, and reconciling supply needs across designated locations. This role involves reporting discrepancies and shipping issues, processing paperwork for overstock and returns, and ensuring timely replenishment of supplies using both manual and automated systems. The associate will also handle the transportation of patient surfaces and assist with cleaning patient equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supply Management: Act as a floor ambassador for designated nursing units, maintaining inventory and responding to unit requests.
• Transportation: Move clinical equipment and supplies from central supply to nursing units and clinics.
• Equipment Cleaning: Clean various patient equipment, including pumps and modules.
• Customer Service: Serve as dispatcher at the Material Services front desk, providing product knowledge and assistance.
• Inventory Analysis: Analyze inventory for optimal stocking locations and procurement schedules.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications

• Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic email and word processing skills.
• Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum one year of experience in inventory management or materials handling.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong leadership qualities and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital environment.
