Reports directly to the Parts Manager. Works in conjunction with Parts, Shipping and Receiving, Purchasing, Production, Service, and Accounting. Performs receiving duties including logging deliveries into log sheet, checking deliveries for proper components, accurate quantities, and quality inspection. Matches paperwork with deliveries. Performs computer receiving duties by inputting proper information into the computer. Distributes and delivers items to appropriate departments or personnel and obtains signature of person accepting delivery. Records daily receiving reports. Stores items on parts shelves and labels items according to established storage plans and bin locations. Ensures accuracy of counts and stocking. Insures neat and orderly organization of parts and Shipping eceiving area. Ships out packages to customers or vendors. Insure appropriate and secured packaging of all items to be shipped. Completes all necessary paperwork for carriers. Maintains records of all items shipped by date, item, carrier, and destination. Routinely unloads commercial carriers as they arrive to the dock using pallets jacks, hand truck, and forklifts or by hand. Utilizes computerized parts kits list generated by the scheduler to produce parts kits for production departments such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, systems prep, metal, counters, cabinets, and wood. Delivers kits and materials or other items from main or woodshop parts to the production floor or specific coaches. Obtains signature from personnel receiving delivery. Provides personnel with materials through a systematic delivery system. Retrieve parts, records them, and restocks them in parts department. Gathers defective and warranty parts for disposition. Maintains record of parts being distributed and/or returned for entry into the automated inventory system. Records necessary information in serial number system and maintain a filing system of kits sorted by coach number and completion date. Record and maintain a back order file on a daily basis. Puts away new stock. Monitors and checks accuracy of stocking levels. Ensures accurate shelving of all items, makes corrections as necessary. Assist parts personnel with various inventory control duties including stocking shelves, issuing parts, and conducting cycle counts, as required. Picks up or delivers parts to suppliers or vendors as needed. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Must obtain and maintain an Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles driver's license. Must maintain good driving record. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
