We have a current career opportunity as a: Materials Coordinator (Contract Position)Location: Muncie, IN, USAThe purpose of this position is to plan, issue, and communicate production schedules. This position will also oversee and give direction to the buyer / purchasing positions. This position will also work closely with customer and supplier contracts.Job Summary:Utilize and evaluate customer EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to plan production.Evaluate / maintain production planning spreadsheets.Manage production purchasing functions. Plan and schedule service requirements.Investigate / reconcile FG (Finished Goods) inventory discrepancies.Utilize customer portals and maintain customer contracts.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsQualifications: Knowledge skills and abilities:Promote and carry out the Hitachi Astemo Philosophy and 5 Joys .Make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated.Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Daily 6's requirements.Ensure all local, state, and federal laws and regulations are complied with in functional area.Provide strong leadership to subordinate personnel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy.Interact with various levels of associates.Maintain knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment within Materials Department.Coordinate and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility.Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization needed.Improve manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives.Education:High School Diploma or GED.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties.Knowledge and experience in Production Control, MRP (Material Requirement Plan) and Purchasing concepts.Intermediate experience requires in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft programs.Advanced experience with ERMS (Electronic Records Management System), Glovia, MRP (Material Requirement Plan), and MPS (Material Planning) systems.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Supervisory Responsibilities: Will not supervise associates.Working conditions:Physical Demands:Required to work for long periods of time while sitting, walking, standing or bending. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Carrying equipment up and down stairs. Occasional overtime will be required.Full motor skills.Factory Setting with Noise.Visual ability to process information and accurately provide detailed responses.Travel:Some domestic and international travel may be required up to 5%.
