Location: Annandale, NJSalary: $24.00 - $26.00/hrCurrently, we are seeking a Materials Assistant to join our Corporate Solutions team in Annandale, NJ.Materials Assistant will assist with various tasks involving material handling, shipping/receiving and routine maintenance inspection tasks.Ability to safely operate a forklift may be necessary for success in this role.Specialty chemical receiving & cylinder check-in and deliveryReceive and unpack specialty chemicalsReceive gas cylindersEnter chemicals using customer's inventory databaseDeliver chemicals/cylinders to lab locationsAffix chemical labels to all chemicalsForklift operation requiredDrum handling and chemical managementDeliver chemical/material drums to customer lab locations within the siteAssist in managing inventory to maintain compliance with storage regulationsForklift operation requiredEyewash/Shower and Lab Drain inspectionsTests (runs equipment) and inspects sites eyewashes and safety showersCoordinates with lab owners to visually inspect lab drains (p trap operation)SCBA inspectionDetailed inspection procedure for verifying functionality of SCBA equipmentRefill air cylindersLiquid Nitrogen filling and deliveryApproximately 80 liquid N2 cryogenic tanks (dewars) spread throughout the siteUses onsite facilities to fill empty 160G dewars with liquid N2Picks up empty dewars, and delivers full dewars to lab locationsForklift operation requiredDry Ice deliveryTakes bulk dry ice from receiving, and delivers to designated areas in the lab wingsForklift operation requiredGlassware pick-up and deliveryPicks up dirty glassware from lab corridors, and delivers to cleanersAfter cleaning, clean glassware is delivered to lab locationsStockroom ClerkStaff stockroom counter and fulfil stockroom requestStock shelves, receive lab/mech/chem stockVerify stock quantityEnter and remove products using customer's inventory databaseOther duties may be assigned.Duties Involving Hazardous MaterialsAfter, and only after, receiving the required training on handling of hazardous materials, selected individual will be required to pick up and transport hazardous materials/waste throughout the site, typically utilizing custom make carts, forklift/tow motor/powered industrial truck, to move 55 gallon drums or dewars. Candidates must possess physical and mental ability necessary to secure a Forklift / Powered Industrial Truck operator's license. General computer skills with knowledge in E-mail, Internet, Microsoft Word and Excel are a plus for this position.
