Amentum is now hiring for a Materials Engineer (All Level) - CSIA position in support of the Cyber Security & Information Assurance (CSIA) Support Services office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and Ft Belvoir, VA. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment CSIA core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of CSIA and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within CSIA.* This position is contingent upon award *The candidate will work closely with the client to perform the following:* Extracts, develops, processes and tests materials used to create a variety of products.* Works with metals, ceramics, plastics, semi-conductors, and composites to create new materials that meet certain mechanical, electrical, chemical, and other requirements.* Evaluates technical and economic factors, recommending engineering and manufacturing actions for attainment of design objectives of process or product by applying knowledge of material science and related technologies.* Reviews plans for new product and factors, such as strength, weight, and cost, to submit material selection recommendations ensuring attainment of design objectives.* Plans and implements laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials to fulfill product cost and performance standards.* Confers with producers of materials, such as metals, ceramics, or polymers, during investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications.* Reviews product failure data and interprets laboratory tests and analyses to establish or rule out material and process causes.* Provides technical knowledge and skill in using specialized applications in emerging Materials.* Experienced in the operational environment and using high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation methodologies on complex problems that require in-depth knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.* Participates as needed in all phases of engineering design and software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation and presentation phases.* Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of expertise to specific order requirements and in the process uses advanced mathematical principles and methods to arrive at practical, innovative solutions.* Designs and prepares technical reports, data bases, studies, and related documentation, makes charts and graphs to record results.* Prepares and delivers presentations and briefings as required by the order.* Has knowledge of security requirements for specialized information transfer applications and is skilled in preparing technical reports and providing other services required by the order.* Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline.* 10+ years' experience.* 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.* Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance.
