Description:As an Advanced Material Handler your responsibilities will be:First point of contact for questions and escalations from a team of material handlersProvide one on one training to new employees, in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and within written job descriptionIdentify process efficiencies and/or productivity enhancements quarterly, or as determined by your direct supervisorBecome a subject matter expert, on material handler responsibilities and assist the team as appropriateAbility to communicate professionally to all levels within the companyIdentify any safety or compliance opportunities, and provide solution oriented feedback through to completionPrepare and ship items using the appropriate shipping method, select appropriate shipping container, pack items for safe deliveryPrepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correctReceives and unloads incoming materials and uses available tools to verify accuracy of shipmentsSorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or receivedInspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnelTraces lost shipments and/or file claims for lost or damaged itemsRoutinely performs administrative functions such as maintaining department databases, prepare routine reports, file shipping and receiving recordsMay operate material handling equipment that could include forklift, electric pallet jacks, shrink-wrap machines, carousels, walkie-stackers, order pickers as neededProvide root cause and corrective actions for monthly business fundamentals, that fall out of control, or as requested by direct SupervisorProvide first level auditing of job transactions and output for compliance with written processes and required guidelines.Partner with direct supervisor on coordination of month end, quarter end, or yearend output requirementsFlexibility to manage competing priorities, professionally and thoroughlyFollows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, written work instructions, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or health standardsPerforms miscellaneous logistics related administrative duties as assignedMaintain a clean, safe, working environment and optimize space utilizationAbility to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, without assistanceRequirements:Minimum of 2 years of previous material handling experience requiredPrevious material handling experience with Agilent/HP is preferredDemonstrated track record of success driving continuous improvement initiativesExperience with Oracle WMS, TA-15, and logistic carrier databases preferredFamiliarity with modern warehousing practices and methodsDemonstrates effective listening and communication (verbal and written) skillsDemonstrated success in a diverse, team-oriented work environmentGood organizational and time management skillsExperience with operation of material handling equipment preferredAbility to type a minimum of 35 WPMExperience with MS Suite of applications including Outlook, Excel, and WordHigh school diploma or equivalent
