Working hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm. Occasional nights and weekends as needed. Bargaining Unit Yes Work Location Warrensburg Campus Posting Date 01/18/2024 Closing Date Open Until Filled Yes Position Purpose Prepares all residential halls with serviceable room furniture prior to school opening for student occupation. Required to deliver all newly received materials and equipment from central receiving to University Departments and offices. Provide support and expedite all departmental office moves including extended campus at Whiteman AFT , and Nursing Department in Kansas City, Missouri. Responsible for the pick up and delivery of all non-expendable declared surplus materials to the surplus lot. Provide support and expedite equipment moves for summer groups utilizing university facilities. Will support all main campus set-ups for University functions, groups, programs and events. Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent Other Education & Formal Training Computer Skills Experience 1. One (1) year experience loading, unloading, securing equipment onto trucks or general materials handling required. 2. Six (6) months general warehouse experience preferred. 3. Six (6) months in the areas of lighting and sound set-up experience preferred. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Sensory abilities: special vision and/or hearing requirements (specify), Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge -Knowledgeable in the techniques of loading, unloading and security of materials onto vehicles required -Knowledgeable of furniture assembly and disassembly -Must have skills with hand tools used in furniture assembly and disassembly -Requires the ability to accurately read and comprehend complicated instructions Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight) - 80lbs Other Physical & Environmental Factors Bending, twisting, stooping Will come in contact with various chemicals, paints, cleaning agents, and hazardous materials in the warehouse Will be subjected to heights in excess of 12 feet Must be able to carry heavy objects up several flights of stairs without the aid of elevators Will be required to wear proper clothing and protective equipment for job accomplishment Lifting weight Special Working Conditions: On call/standby work required, Uniform required, Irregular work hours Other Special Working Conditions Irregular work hours, including weekends, holidays and long days Ability to Keyboard No keyboarding test required. Special Qualifications: Other Special Qualifications Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within first six (6) months of employment.
