Job Title: Material Handler

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Summary: Receives, stores, and moves materials and product in addition to performing the following duties.

• Unloads trucks using forklift
• Moves materials to proper storage locations
• Moves material to appropriate production locations as needed and directed
• Loads and unloads materials on or off of pallets, racks and/or shelves
• Follows appropriate loading and unloading procedures
• Is the first point of contact for production material requests
• Reports any shortages and/or damages to Head Receiver
• Enforce and implement all receiving and security procedures and policies
• Supervises/directs Forklift Operators and Stockers
• Follows instructions from Materials Manager and Head Receiver, and effectively communicates all expectations to Material Handlers and Stockers
• Follows Company policies and procedures, and ensures all department team members understand and are compliant
• Ensures/delegates housekeeping duties are met daily
• Follows all company Safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Background in Materials Handling is preferred, especially in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Must have Forklift Certification or be able to pass certification
• Computer skills and literacy are preferred
• Possesses strong, consistent and fair leadership skills
• Good decision making and motivational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to take responsibility for own actions and for those on his team
• Must have and maintain excellent attendance record
• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Must maintain good housekeeping
• Will constantly be required to lift 50 lbs regularly
• Must be able to walk 50% of the workday
• Must be able to climb on and off a forklift 50% of the workday
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
