Materials Handling Lead The Lead reports to the warehouse manager and is responsible for performing all required leadership tasks. This position is also responsible for keeping an open line of communication with management from various departments. This position will be responsible for assisting in leading the warehouse materials handling at Cherokee St. Key Roles:
Meet the expectations of production goals set by Diamond Mowers. Guides department employees on operations within their department and assists the warehouse manager in daily tasks. Maintains great attendance to ensure production plans are met and individual accountability. Maintains a positive attitude for personal and team growth. Responsibilities:
- Hold employees accountable to daily productivity rates including addressing missed picks.
- Audit picks and orders to ensure the accuracy of large items and parts orders and shorts.
- Provide general oversight of all departmental areas and provide support as needed (i.e. post-paint, whole goods, picking, forklift utilization, assembly questions and needs).
- Hold a daily safety tailgate for shift employees when necessary.
- Prevent future problems by introducing and training better processes, adapting current practices, and communicating within and outside of the Materials Department.
- Responsible for updating Muni build schedule with parts shorts.
- Accurate transacting of parts into CSI.
- Complete daily picks and orders when not performing Lead duties.
- Assist in the training of new employees when necessary.
- Strive for an injury free workplace through a “safety first” attitude.
- Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
All other duties are performed as necessary. Qualifications:
- Must be in good standing with the company.
- Must be a Materials Handler III.
- Have a willingness to advance leadership skills as required.
- General knowledge of the picking and order processes and products currently picked and processed at the facility.
