Northeastern Iowa – on site

Sedona, in partnership with a local Northeastern Iowa manufacturer, is seeking a Materials Movement Manager. The Materials Movement Manager will oversee the efficient flow and tracking of materials within the production facility, ensuring optimal inventory levels, minimizing downtime, and supporting seamless production. This position is crucial in helping us achieve operational efficiency and maintain high standards for inventory accuracy. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning the right fit candidate would go directly onto the hiring company payroll and be eligible for company provided benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Materials Flow / Movement Oversight: Manage and evaluate the activities of all supervisors and lead persons in the receiving, returns, outside material movement, replenishment, inspection and loading functions including performance measurement and reviews. Perform supervisory responsibilities complying with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory flow, reduce waste, and optimize storage and retrieval systems.
  • Data Tracking and Analysis: Use ERP and inventory management systems to monitor material flow, track key metrics, and analyze data for process improvements.
  • Coordination with Production & Supply Chain: Coordinate closely with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to align material availability with production schedules and forecasts.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of inventory and warehouse personnel, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Write and maintain departmental work instructions and maintain departmental training documentation. Develop and implement KPIs to measure team's performance.
  • Loss Prevention: Monitor for discrepancies, damaged goods, or potential loss, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree (Bachelor or Associate) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in materials management, materials flow, or logistics, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP system(s) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership Skills: Previous experience in team management, with a focus on safety, productivity, and collaboration.
