LHH is seeking a Material Planner for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near Lafayette, Indiana. In this newly created role, you will work as part of a planning team and will be responsible for managing all raw materials and inventory within your designated unit and ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials to meet production schedules. This is a highly collaborative role where you will partner with the purchasing, shipping, and receiving departments to achieve KPIs. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $70,000-80,000 per year plus bonus and includes affordable medical insurance options, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the ERP System to ensure accurate and timely procurement of materials
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain optimal stock levels
- Collaborate with production managers regarding raw material needs and then coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
- When necessary, resolve any issues related to supply chain disruptions or material shortages
- Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine material requirements and properly manage onsite inventory
- Plan and schedule inventory accuracy activities, manage min/max levels, and lead inventory reduction initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Participate in Kanban activities and prepare and present reports on material status, inventory levels, and supplier performance when applicable
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred but not required
- Minimum of three years of material planning and/or inventory management experience within a manufacturing setting is required
- Must have experience managing inventory, processing orders, and running reports within an ERP/MRP system
- Must possess strong technical skills using Excel
- Ideal candidates will possess a Six Sigma belt and/or APICS certification
- Must be a self-motivated worker who is results-driven
- Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent communication skills
